The Forgotten

Session notes from 9/25/11
Tower of Trouble
  • The party opted not investigate Traegenhal right now and instead returned to Sandera.
  • Zurcies, Jheeteah, Mikel Del’fury all came down with a strange illness after the battle with the Illithids.
  • Upon returning to Sandera a messenger from the Ravens came to deliver a message to Haitlin El’Jaren about strange magical fluctuations at the supposedly haunted Trenin Mines.
  • The party traveled to Trevillo Tower and found the living door, a magical gateway of flesh which led to the secret halls of Trevillo Tower. Upon each member sharing their darkest secret the doorway let them pass.
  • The party entered the hall of mirrors and fought a sneaky and rather difficult group of mimics.
  • After the battle the party found the room of the magister Van Draxen, and a journal entry speaking of new magic and the magister Malrox including his status as a prodigy.

And now a question for the PC’s: How did you feel about having to reveal your darkest secret to the living door? Leave your answer in the comments section, along with any other thoughts on this adventure.

Meet the Vexallions

The session kicked off with the conclussion of the partys meeting with Archmagister Malicar at which point the party met the Telmaraine nobles Devin Delacroix and his wife Genevieve Delacroix.

Two days later the party left the Archmagistry and sailed south to the port town of Faldren. Upon eventually returning to Sandera the party acquired two new memebers in Zurcies the Arturan soldier secretly hired by Shanomac El’Jaren to protect his father and Jheeteah the Half Elven acquisitions expert hired on by Elliamice Lithandel to collect any fine pieces of art the party discovered.

The party reconvened at Battlespire several days later and were rudely interrupted in the middle of the night by the hulking zombie Theodore. However he was not threatening, unless your the front door of Battlespire that is, and in actuality came to deliver a dinner invitation from someone named KV in the 66th District of Telmaraine.

When the party returned to Telmaraine the quickly ran into Slitherin the giant snake who was their transport to the dinner. When the group arrived at 256 Stygian Plague Way they noticed that the plaque outside said ‘The Vexallions’. Soon the party came to realize that Xerkxan’s family had invited them to dinner. The Vexallions were not the typical family however as their continued practices with dark magic had changed them. They first met Xerkxan’s father the half demon Korvar Vexallion and his mother the medusa like Mordrith Vexallion along with his younger brother Mordry Vexallion who was a swarm of miniature versions of himself and his younger sister the sensual if somewhat young Vecna Vexallion.

After a strange dinner served up by the touchy family cook Hannibal Ector Korvar gave Xerkxan his airship. The joy of the new gift was short lived however as a tremendous earthquake shook the continent and a giant storm loomed out on the horizon. The party flew out on the newly acquired airship to investigate. A large tower sat at the center of the storm and Korvar informed everyone that the tower had never been there before.

The Life and Times of Xerkzan Vexallion

The Heroes had gathered at the lighthouse to discuss recent events in Sandera and the disappearance of their comrade Xerkxan Vexalian. After taking care of a rude interuption by a beholder Haitlin El’Jaren was taken to the fountain of time by the god Sato (Ioun) unbeknownst to rest of his gathered friends.

At the fountain of time Haitlin was reunited with Xerkzan and a dire prophecy was revealed, Xerkzan would lead his people to their demise. To prove his point Sato sent the two companions into the future along with one of his disciples, the chainsmoking Deva Zane. In the future Xerkzan saw the destruction of Battlespire and the woods, as well as the deaths of his sister Danafaye and son Quasaran. However the worst of it came when he found his people forced into hiding underground and met his future self. Something had clearly changed him over the years, he seemed frayed and almost mad as he proclaimed to have killed Haitlin with his own hands and did not understand how he could be there.

Upon returning to the fountain of time Sato revealed that the only foreseeable way to avoid this outcome was to find the Elf Eithir Duelus and keep him near. The heroes quickly left to find him at Alman’s Watch.

After a brief reunion at Alman’s Watch with Trion, Shanomac and Quasaran the group left, with Eithir in tow, to return to the lighthouse.

Unfortunately shortly after returning to the lighthouse more bad news struck as the group was informed that they should return to Arturia City quickly. However upon arrival they found the entire city to be missing. A mysterious figure calling himself Chaos claimed to have given the city to Orcus.

In the ensuing battle Haitlin was badly injured and needed immediate medical attention. The mage Telman Solverus offered to see Haitlin fully healed if the party would accompany him. Wanting to see his friend healed Xerkxan Vexalian agreed and the party boarded a strange boat that could fly.

Telman took them to a city that appeared out of nowhere and saw to the treatment of Haitlin while the party explored the secret city of The Archmagistry of Telmaraine

Campaign Site Reaches 1st Level

Hey Fellas this is the site for the epic tier campaign following the heroes of the Arturan Revolution and their struggles in the years following the revolution. Keep in my mind this takes place 25 years after the assassination of the Galeon King and the end of the war. This is obviously a significant time lapse for humans, but much less so for Elves and the longer life span species of Sandera.

As for the site I’ll be updating things more as we close in on returning from my DMing hiatus. In the mean time uploading your characters and their wish lists is highly beneficial to you. Also please recommend any pertinent world info, NPCs, or world events that you would like clarification on, or believe should be represented on the site.
